Progress on EU-US trade deal

The European Union is moving to expedite legislation by the end of the week that would eliminate all tariffs on U.S. industrial goods, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

The report, citing sources familiar with the discussions, said the European Commission, which manages EU trade policy, plans to extend preferential tariff rates for some U.S. seafood and agricultural products.

EU officials have acknowledged that the trade arrangement with Trump favors the United States, but they emphasize that the agreement is necessary to provide stability and certainty for companies in both markets
