The British government said that Britain and the United States will sign an agreement to cooperate on nuclear energy during US President Donald Trump's visit this week, helping secure investment to fund new plants.
The British government has launched a major campaign to expand the nuclear energy sector in recent months, pledging to invest £14 billion ($19 billion) in the new Sizewell C plant and moving forward with plans for a Rolls-Royce subsidiary to build the country's first small modular reactors.
Trump arrives in Britain for a two-day visit on Tuesday, where he and Prime Minister Keir Starmer will announce a nuclear energy partnership.
Among other investments expected to be announced is a deal for UK-based Urenco to supply an advanced form of low-enriched uranium to the US market
