Cryptocurrencies fall as US government shutdown continues

Most cryptocurrency prices declined during Wednesday's trading, affected by a decline in investor risk appetite amid the ongoing US government shutdown for a second week.

Bitcoin rose 0.3% to $121,949.22 at 11:27 AM Mecca time, accounting for approximately 58.3% of the total cryptocurrency market value.

Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, fell 0.15% to $4,471.95, and Ripple fell 0.3% to $2,866.

The global cryptocurrency market capitalization stands at $4.16 trillion, with total trading volume over the past 24 hours reaching $242.24 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data.
