The European Union threatens retaliatory tariffs if U.S. duties persist

The European Union plans to impose retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods, including Boeing aircraft, if President Donald Trump decides to maintain the core 10% tariff.

In remarks to Bloomberg, European Commissioner for Industry Stéphane Séjourné said the EU is prepared to restore balance in key sectors if Washington insists on pursuing an uneven trade agreement.

Séjourné warned that the European aviation sector—particularly Airbus—would be severely affected if the U.S. continues to give Boeing an unfair competitive edge by imposing additional duties on European aircraft.
