European gas futures decline amid profit-taking

European natural gas prices declined during Thursday’s trading, as Norwegian supply rebounded following the completion of maintenance work, coinciding with profit-taking after prices reached their highest level in over six weeks in the previous session.

Dutch natural gas futures for June delivery fell by 0.45% to €36.785 per megawatt-hour as of 12:58 p.m. Mecca time.

Total exports from Norwegian gas facilities increased by 85 million cubic meters per day, reaching 243 million cubic meters per day, following the full reopening of the Kollsnes and Troll plants, according to Reuters.

A note from LSEG projected that gas flows to mainland Europe would rise by 67 million cubic meters per day, reaching 201 million cubic meters per day
