Dollar Gives Back Some Gains Ahead of Trump-Putin Summit

The US dollar fell on Friday, giving up some of the strong gains it made in the previous session ahead of monthly retail sales data and a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The dollar index, which tracks the greenback against a basket of six other currencies, fell 0.4% to 97.750, following sharp gains in the previous session
