The dollar fell slightly ahead of the release of the main US consumer price index

The US dollar retreated slightly on Tuesday, but remained near a three-week high ahead of the release of widely watched US inflation data, which could provide clues on the path of monetary policy.

At 11:30 a.m. Saudi time, the dollar index, which tracks the greenback against a basket of six other currencies, was down 0.1% at 97.627, not far from its highest level since June 25.
