The US dollar retreated on Wednesday, giving up some of its recent gains after Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's comments reinforced bets on interest rate cuts, while the euro found support.
The dollar index, which tracks the greenback's performance against a basket of six other currencies, fell 0.3% to 98.5450, after gaining more than 2% over the past month
