Gold prices rise due to Trump's tariff threat

Gold prices rose in Asian trading on Friday, recovering some of their recent losses after US President Donald Trump's threat to impose more trade tariffs boosted safe-haven demand. Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East also helped.

Spot gold rose 0.5% to $3,341.27 per ounce, while September gold futures rose 0.9% to $3,354.60 per ounce
