Yen extends gains to two-week high

The Japanese yen rose in Asian trading on Thursday against a basket of major and minor currencies, extending its gains for the fourth consecutive day against the US dollar, reaching a two-week high. Safe-haven buying activity intensified amid political uncertainty in Japan.
Today's Japanese yen exchange rate: The dollar fell 0.45% against the yen to ¥145.85, its lowest level since July 10, from the opening price of ¥146.50. It reached a high of ¥146.52
