The euro extends its losses amid interest rate gap concerns

The euro declined in the European market on Thursday against a basket of major global currencies, extending its losses for the third consecutive day against the U.S. dollar, hitting a two-week low. This decline comes amid growing concerns over a widening interest rate gap between Europe and the United States.

The euro fell against the dollar by 0.35% to $1.1287 — its lowest level since April 16 — down from today’s opening price of $1.1328, after recording a session high of $1.1331
